Seton Hall Pirates - 8-4 (1-0)

The biggest upset of the group was Seton Hall not only being a top-5 UConn squad but in fact, dominating them to a 15-point win. The final score was 75-60, thanks to 23 pts, 6 rebs, 5 asts, and 8 stls from guard Kadary Richmond. Dre Davis also chipped in with 17 pts on 8/13 shooting, while big man Jaden Bediako blocked three shots and was a rebound shy of a double-double.

It's important to note that UConn center Donovan Clingan suffered an ankle injury and left the game in the first half and didn't return. Still, Seton Hall was leading the game with him in so I don't want to discredit the big victory. And it was a big one for the program, making it their third straight.

UConn follows Missouri as the big wins for the Pirates on their resume. The losses so far comes are to USC, Iowa, Baylor, and Rutgers. None of them are bad losses at all but it does ask the question of how good this group is against power conference competition when Richmond isn't going off.

Before the Huskies win, the offense was scoring just over 60 points against power conference teams. If what happened this week is the start of a trend, then Seton Hall will go to the Big Dance. I need to see it consistently before I'm fully on board.
