6. Aidan Mahaney (UConn)

The opportunity to play for Dan Hurley and the reigning back-to-back National Champion UConn Huskies is a hard offer to pass up, and Aidan Mahaney has taken that offer and will look to help this team repeat yet again. He will be a junior next season and will look to add some three-point shooting to this offense that needed a boost in that department.

Mahaney made the most threes in the WCC last season with 83 and has been a great impact volume shooter throughout his career with the St. Mary’s Gaels. He is a 6’3 guard who can put the ball up when you need a three, which is something that Tristen Newton was able to do last season, Mahaney is just more focused on that aspect of his game, the shooting. He made his name as a mid-major star and was a first-team ALL-WCC member in his freshman and Sophomore seasons.

If you were ever wondering how St. Mary’s was so good these past couple of seasons, look at the play of Mahaney and that will answer your questions. He will immediately be a solid player in this conference, and will probably finish out his college career up in Storrs for his senior season after this as well. They will hope to get another championship out of his play, and if he can knock down the outside shot with consistency, then they might just do that. Dan Hurley's staying was a huge moment for this program, and it will be exciting to see how these two make magic happen.
