15. Micah Peavy (Georgetown)

Georgetown has made a couple of splashes in this transfer portal and Micah Peavy can be just that. The TCU product was an All-Big 12 honorable mention after putting up 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game. He will be playing his fifth season of college basketball for the Hoyas after a freshman season at Texas Tech, and a three-year run for the TCU Horned Frogs.

The 6’8 guard is exactly what Cooley was looking for, someone with great size who can drive to the rim and make some magic happen. This past season was the first of his career averaging double digits, and Cooley will look to make that happen yet again. Even though he has played plenty of college basketball he is still a player that feels like he can hit another gear given last season was the first of his career where he had that large of a role.

His transition to the Big East will be interesting, and whether Cooley features him a ton or not is yet to be seen. But when it comes to getting the most out of his players, this coach is right up there with the best of them. So if Peavy comes out and has a breakout season, he can thank Cooley for that if it happens.

But Georgetown, needed more guard depth, and Peavy can start for this squad, but it is yet to be seen depending on where the other transfers find themselves contributing. Peavy will have a big role for this team nonetheless and may have a chance to blossom as a scorer this season. Georgetown is building something here, and acquiring the veteran leadership of Peavy is a big step in the right direction.
