13. Aaron Scott (St. John's)

North Texas was a very fun team to watch last season and Aaron Scott was a huge part of that with his 6’7 frame and impressive scoring ability. He put up 11.0 points and 5.6 rebounds per game for the Mean Green and will look to add his skillset to the rotation of a now-deep St. John’s unit. Scott comes in as a senior, and it seems that Rick Pitino has been targeting these more experienced transfers as he continues to build out this roster for this upcoming season.

What some fans may remember Scott from is the run that North Texas went on in 2023 as they captured an NIT Championship, with Scott playing a huge part in that, including his big-time block in the game’s dying moments against Wisconsin. Scott is an athletic player who can make a big play on both ends when needed in moments like that. And given how close Big East games can get, having a 6’7 athlete who can block shots and get a bucket as a wing player is important to have for teams.

Given the guard duo the Red Storm also picked up from the portal, this is a key piece to fill out this unit for the Johnnies. Pitino has a vision with how he wants to build this team, and they are shaping up to be a dangerous unit in Big East play this upcoming season. With transfers like Scott, they can fulfill the expectations that a Pitino-led team provides, it just all depends on how they all mesh, but Scott should not have issues filling into this team.
