10. Georgetown Hoyas

A year ago, Coach Ed Cooley got a pass for an underwhelming offseason in terms of roster building since they were rebuilding. But after finishing winless in Big East Basketball outside of wins over lowly DePaul, have things gotten better for the program?

Several players entered the portal, including double-digit scoring forwards, Dontrez Styles and Supreme Cook. Losing Cook late in the process really hurt because the portal doesn’t have any realistic options left that can play at the Big East level. Drew Fielder will have plenty of pressure to be a big impact big man up front, while four-star prospect Thomas Sorber adds to the depth.

The hope is that the backcourt duo of Jayden Epps and Malik Mack is one of the best in the conference. Epps was the main bright spot for the team last season, leading them with 18.5 ppg and 4.2 apg. Mack, a standout freshman from Harvard, produced 17.2 ppg and 4.8 apg and was the Ivy League Rookie of the Year.

Several wing transfers are joining who the Hoyas will need to make an impact. Micah Peavy is most likely, a starter from TCU. Look for Curtis Williams and Jordan Burks to be possible impact transfers and possible 3rd options on offense if things go well. If it happens, they can get out of the bottom tier. Otherwise, they might not even be better than DePaul next season.
