6. Providence Friars

Despite not doing much in the postseason or Big East Tournament, it was clear that Kim English is emerging as one of the best coaches in the entire Big East Conference. For a team that lost their best player, to do as well as they did and not die down is a statement of his coaching ability so far.

They lost some talent, but English proved he could make big moves in the portal yet again by picking up four transfers who were four-stars one way or another. Wesley Cardet, Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Christ Essandoko, and Bensley Joseph are all going to be major contributors next season and could be difference-makers in this conference.

This team emerges as a deep, physical, and scrappy Big East opponent who wants to make something happen this upcoming season. They improve but still sit around the middle of the pack in this conference. But this could be a year where English shows that if you come to Providence, you have a chance to compete despite whatever talent may or may not be there.

Replacing the offense and scrappiness of Devin Carter will be the toughest replacement, but with their portal work, they have what it takes to do so. Providence could have a huge rise this season,  but expect them to sit around this range unless they make another major pickup.
