Indiana Hoosiers - Grade: A+

At the very beginning of the offseason, the Hoosiers were lucky to even get a passing grade. 5-star commit Liam McNeeley left for UConn as a sign of potential trouble. The program was able to rebound by landing Bryson Tucker, a top-30 wing prospect who was a late addition after the G League Ignite Team shut down.

There were two other major losses the Hoosiers suffered that they arguably upgraded. Starting center Kel’el Ware is now in the NBA but they were able to replace him with Oumar Ballo, one of the top defensive centers in the country, coming over from Arizona. At point guard, the team added two other key ball-handlers in Myles Rice and Kanaan Carlyle, two of the top guards in the Pac-12 last season.

Indiana also was able to bring back some key pieces as well. Former 5-star prospect Mackenzie Mgbako is back as a national breakout candidate, while Malik Renuau averaged over 15 ppg last season in the frontcourt. Plus, Trey Galloway and Anthony Leal also are key backcourt contributors on the perimeter.

On paper, Indiana has a great case for being the team to beat in Big Ten Basketball next season. It’s been a great offseason for Coach Mike Woodson, who may have been on the hot seat towards the end of last season.
