12. Nebraska Cornhuskers

Coming off a rare NCAA Tournament appearance, the Cornhuskers will be without leading scorer and elite sharpshooter, Keiser Tominaga. Plus, three other key rotation pieces (Josiah Allick, CJ Wilcher, and Jamarqes Lawrence has moved on as well. But an even bigger loss occurred early in the offseason last month.

Rienk Mast was slated to return for an extra year, coming off a big first year with the program. The 6’8 forward averaged 12.3 ppg, along with a team-leading 7.5 rpg and 3.0 apg as an impact big man. However, a knee injury Mast occured has already confirmed him to be sidelined for the 2025-26, taking a medical redshirt.

The loss of Mast hurts but Nebraska does bring back two other starters in Juwan Gary and Brice Williams. They added several other transfers as well, including forwards Andrew Morgan, Berke Buyuktuncel, and Braxton Meah to help replace Mast. Rollie Worster comes from Utah as one of the top passers in the country, while Ahron Ulis returns after missing all of last season for ball-handler depth.

Both Connor Essegian and Gavin Griffiths are from Big Ten Basketball schools and are looking for larger roles. If either can break out and replace Tominaga as the new key shooter, that’ll be huge for their chances to make consecutive trips to the NCAA Tournament.
