13. Maryland Terrapins - 13-11 (5-8)

The Terps showed some signs of life a couple of weeks ago, winning back-to-back games against Iowa and Nebraska. Unfortunately for them, what little at-large hopes they had have officially been ruined, having lost three straight games.

The defeats came to Michigan State, Rutgers at home, and at Ohio State. The last one was a double-overtime setback, 79-75. Jahmir Young went for 26 points on 8/22 shooting, while Donta Scott (19 points) and Julian Reese (13 points and 13 rebounds).

The problem is that the rest of the supporting cast struggles and the lack of depth is why a team with three all-conference caliber players is near the bottom of the Big Ten standings. Coach Kevin Willard may not be on the hot seat yet but this certainly has been a dismal Year 2 for him.

We’ll see what happens next with the Terps and whether they have anything left. After a home game versus Iowa, they have three tough matchups, including games against Illinois and Wisconsin.
