Syracuse

What exactly does the future hold at Syracuse? Year one for Adrian Autry has certainly been different for the Orange, though many things remain the same. Syracuse struggled at the Maui Invitational, but won their other nonconference games, beating Oregon and LSU among others. Unfortunately, the results just haven’t been there in league play in a tight ACC.

Entering this week just 5-4 in ACC play, things got even worse for the Orange who lost a pair of road games. Syracuse fell 80-75 on Tuesday to Boston College but really got tripped up this weekend, losing by nearly 30 points against Wake Forest. Combine this with a home loss to Florida State the week prior and it’s fair to say that Syracuse’s bubble is quickly popping before our eyes.

They have a nice win over Pittsburgh but are just 1-6 against Quad 1 foes, with their NET sitting down at just 84. Syracuse has flirted with the bubble many times in recent years but they aren’t really flirting with it with how they’ve played recently. The Orange do have a run of home games in the future and could get back into favor with a late season surge; we’ll just have to see how Autry’s first season in charge finishes up.
