Nebraska

Believe it or not, Nebraska is the only power conference program that has never won a game in the NCAA Tournament. In fact, the Cornhuskers haven’t reached the Big Dance in a decade, but Fred Hoiberg has this team trending in that direction. There are no certainties here in February, but the Cornhuskers have had quite the season so far.

In actuality, Nebraska has won every home game in Big Ten play, a slate that has included impressive performances against Michigan State, Purdue, and Wisconsin. Unfortunately, they’ve also lost each of their road games against their league rivals, including a tough one at Illinois last Sunday and a missed opportunity at Northwestern a few days ago.

They’ll be back home on Saturday against a Michigan team that’s not been in ideal shape this season. The Wolverines are coming off an upset win over Wisconsin, but the Cornhuskers must continue their winning ways at home. They don’t need a Quad 3 loss against this Michigan team. In fact, the next couple of weeks don’t present many opportunities for the Cornhuskers; they simply must win against the bottom-tier teams in the league.
