Kansas State Wildcats

After a strong start to Big 12 play, Kansas State has struggled as of late. They lost four straight games, including a Quad 3 defeat at Oklahoma State. With a NET ranking in the 70s and just one Quad 1 victory, their resume was in great danger of falling out of the NCAA Tournament.

Enters rival Kansas at home. These two battles always are intense and end in fireworks. And while this one needed five more minutes, the Wildcats found a way to get a signature victory, 75-70. Tylor Perry had 26 points and four assists, while Camryn Carter went for 19 points and 11 rebounds.

It not only gave Kansas State its second Quad 1 victory but it’s as good of one as possible for the program. They weren’t able to get another one this weekend, losing 72-66 on the road at BYU. But that loss won’t hurt the metrics for them at least.

This week gives the Wildcats both winnable challenges, taking on TCU and Texas. The battle with the Horned Frogs is at home so between the two, that’s the more important game to win.
