Nebraska
The Cornhuskers have never won an NCAA Tournament game, which sounds impossible for a Big Ten program but is completely true. They haven’t been invited to the Big Dance in a decade but may have the team to get the job done this season. Impressive wins over Purdue, Wisconsin, and Michigan State elevated this resume, but there have also been troubling performances away from home.
This week changed that, as the Cornhuskers finally won a road game in Big Ten play, winning 85-70 in a laugher at Indiana. That specific win is just Quad 2 and doesn’t push the needle too much, but it shows that Nebraska sis capable of winning games away from home. This team then played another strong game on Sunday, winning 73-55 over Minnesota to remain perfect at home in league play.
These two wins don’t exactly push the needle, but Nebraska certainly looks like an NCAA Tournament team regardless. They’ve won each of their last four games by at least 15 points and have three winnable games remaining on the schedule. Their four Quad 1 wins help propel this resume and a hot streak to end the season could leave the committee no choice but to let them dance.
