The Selection Committee won’t meet in earnest for a few weeks and we’re still a month out from this year’s edition of the NCAA Tournament. Still, it’s definitely that time of year when bracketology becomes one of the biggest focuses of the season. It may feel like we’re eons away from clutching the bracket, but this is a very important stretch of basketball.

Teams have honestly been jockeying for position since the opening tip back in early November, but these games in the coming weeks are as important as any all season. They’re especially important for those teams right on the edge; the ones who hope their bubbles aren’t popped on Selection Sunday.

Numerous teams still have weeks ahead to show that they belong, but we’re going to be taking a closer look at where a handful of those teams sit here in the middle of February, knowing full well that things will change perhaps even in the next few days.

We’re not examining rosters or picking who we think will make the Big Dance; today’s focus is on the profiles of these bubble teams. We’re looking at their NET rating and their records against Quad 1 through 4 opponents and using those metrics to make conclusions about these teams. Each resume is different, but let’s find out which ones are sitting in the best position.
