Utah State Aggies 15-1, 3-0 in Mountain West

At 15-1 and 3-0 in conference play, the team that currently sits atop the Mountain West standings is the Utah State Aggies. They came roaring out of the gate in league play by dismantling Air Force by 28 and knocking off Colorado State. The Aggies then took care of business at home against Wyoming on Tuesday. Their lone loss was an overtime loss to Bradley in the second game of the year. The rest of their non-conference slate was littered with wins over mid-major favorites such as Akron, UC-Irvine and San Francisco.

Montana State transfer Great Osobor has been fantastic for the Aggies, leading them in scoring (18.6), rebounding (9.4) and blocks (1.4). In the backcourt, Osobor's Montana State teammate Darius Brown II has been just as good, averaging 10.7 points and 7.6 assists while committing just 1.4 turnovers.

As a team that has been very good shooting 50% from the field, ranks 11th in two-point shooting and 53rd in effective field goal percentage, and ranks just as well in defensive efficiency (40th) and three-point defense (16th), they can beat you by putting up 80-plus or shutting down opponents on the defensive end by surrendering 65 points per game.

The Aggies are currently 20th in the NET and a results-metrics average of 13 which coincides with their 4-1 record in the first two quads. Ryan Odom’s Aggies entered the latest poll at No. 20 and despite not getting the ink the likes of Colorado State and San Diego State have gotten it’s time to start taking notice of what is happening in Logan because Utah State is setting a course for the NCAA Tournament.
