Utah State Aggies

The Mountain West has been highly impressive at the top, thanks to the expected top teams such as New Mexico, San Diego State, and Colorado State. But joining them in the top tier is Utah State, who after losing to Bradley in overtime in the first week of the season, has since won 13 straight as of today.

The latest two wins were at the start of Mountain West play. The first was a 28-point road win at Air Force in an expected blowout. The final score was 88-60, led by 32 points and nine rebounds from star forward, Great Osobor. Mason Falsey (18 points) and Ian Martinez (17 points) also were in double figures.

The big game for Utah State was on Saturday, taking on a ranked Colorado State squad at home in arguably the biggest resume-building opportunity of the season. Despite trailing at halftime, the Aggies were able to come back and get the massive Quad 1 victory, 77-72. Osobor had another big game with 20 points and 14 rebounds, while Falsev chipped in with 18 points on 8/13 shooting.

Utah State’s resume was already in great shape metric-wise, though they did lack signature wins. They got one this weekend with the Rams and now look to compete for a conference title. Up next is Wyoming at home, followed by a trip to Vegas to take on UNLV.
