TCU Horned Frogs
Saving the best for last is a team that could’ve easily gone 0-2 and no one would’ve condemned them for it. TCU came into this week with not much of a resume, having just Arizona State and Georgetown as its top wins, along with a loss to Nevada to open league play.
But what’s fun about “Bracketology” is seeing a team play itself from outside the bubble to squarely in after taking care of business. And that’s what the Horned Frogs did, starting with an 80-71 home win over Oklahoma. Emanuel Miller had one of his best games yet, going for 27 points and nine rebounds.
TCU followed that top-10 win with another one, beating No. 2 Houston in a classic. The final score was 68-67 in the final seconds, with Miller leading the way with 13 points and five assists. While the Sooners are likely going to be a Quad 2 win down the road, the Cougars have a clear Quad 1 signature win they can have on their resume.
With how strong the Big 12 Conference is, winning your home games is very important if you’re going to get an at-large bid. TCU did that, putting them on the right side of the bubble for now. The program looks to continue the positive momentum, taking on Cincinnati on the road, followed by the Cyclones coming to Fort Worth.
