TCU transfer Micah Peavy has found a new home for next season, committing to play for Georgetown Basketball.

Georgetown has landed the rising fifth-year senior Micah Peavy. The announcement was made on April 13th, per Joe Tipton. The Hoyas will be the third college for the Texas native as he committed to Texas Tech after high school ball.

Tipton mentioned underneath this tweet found on X (formerly Twitter) that Peavy chose Georgetown over Houston, Kansas, Kansas State, and Creighton. All are teams that just made it to the big dance, while Ed Cooley and his program failed to reach that mark after a frustrating season record ending at 9-23 and a 2-18 record during conference play in the Big East.

The 6-foot-8 guard and 215-pound guard from Cibolo, Texas, is coming off his best season as a college athlete. He scored 11 points, grabbed five rebounds, and dished out three assists throughout the season. Plus, shooting 45 percent overall, along with 31 percent from three, respectively.

Peavy's 26-point outing against Kansas State this past February 17th was tallied at a season-high and concluded with a 75-72 victory. He also managed nine rebounds and two assists, as well as 50 percent from the field. He scored a total of 372 points, snatched 168 rebounds, and threw 89 assists during the '23-'24 slate.

The former Horned Frog played in 34 games, averaging 29 minutes, with his most minutes reaching 34 against Oklahoma this past March 13th and flooring at 21 minutes on two separate occasions (November 6th and February 12th).

A runner in transition who elevates off the ground with ease and is a capable shooter from the catch-and-shoot position or off the dribble. Peavy's passing is another key skill that makes him a well-rounded piece for Coach Cooley and staff.

It is an underrated grab for Georgetown, as it looks to go beyond measure compared to this past season's outcome. Adding Peavy helps increase their chance of doing just that.
