Hoops fans destroying Illinois worse than UConn did

Illinois did their best to stop UConn in the Elite Eight, but I think they thought the game ended at the first half.

If you know an Illinois fan you might want to either check in on them and make sure they are okay or respect their privacy at this time. The Fighting Illini seemed to give it their all against UConn...in the first half. If I had told you the score at halftime was 23-28, you probably wouldn't believe me when you look at the final score.

Just like they have throughout the entire NCAA Tournament, the UConn Huskies dominated their opponent beating Illinois 77-52 in the Elite Eight. It seemed like Illinois was finally going to be a team to challenge the Huskies in the first half, but when UConn went on a 30-0 run in the second half, all hope was lost.

College basketball fans all over beat down Ilinois almost as badly as UConn did on social media. So here are some of the best posts we could find. If you are an Illinois fan, you may want to look away, but if you aren't, please enjoy.

Was Illinois really overhyped or is UConn just that dominant right now? I'll let you guys discuss and decide.

Illinois scored 23 points in the first half and just 29 in the second half. Clearly the offensive powerhouse head coach Brad Underwood talk about after the Iowa State game was no where to be found.

UConn is good: confirmed.

I promise Illinois is a Power Five school, but UConn is so good they can make anyone look like a high school JV basketball team, no offense to high school JV basketball teams.

The man is over seven feet tall, maybe you should stop driving to the hoop against him if you don't want to have your shot blocked almost every time.
