Kansas Basketball: Jayhawks' nearly-perfect offseason makes them '24-25 title contenders
The incoming freshmen should make an impact
One of the areas Kansas could improve for next season is their depth as they for all intents and purposes utilized a two-man bench last year. The building of that depth begins with their recruiting class. With Dickinson definitely in his last year, Self brought in a potential heir apparent in Indiana's Player of the Year Flory Bidunga. The top-15 recruit is a native of the Congo and will benefit from a year learning behind Dickinson and in the conditioning program as he weighs just 210 lbs. at 6'10.
Eventually, he should give them an imposing figure in the paint on both ends of the floor, although he struggles a bit with consistent effort both on the glass and on the defensive end, but a year under the wing of Dickinson could help alleviate that.
The other incoming freshman is shooting guard Rakease Passmore. Passmore is a 6'5 wing from North Carolina who is another top-50 recruit according to 247sports. He has an athletic build excels in transition and likes to go to the basket with the ability to finish through contact. The rest of his game on both ends of the floor needs some refinement, the tools are there to be a solid shooter and a very good defender. Both Bidunga and Passmore need some work, they can prove to be decent depth pieces for Kansas during their freshmen campaigns.
