Projected Starting Lineup

Point Guard: Tre Donaldson

Tre Donaldson joins the Wolverines after playing two seasons at Auburn where he generally played a key role off the bench. Last season, Donaldson averaged 6.7 ppg, 3.2 apg, and 2.4 rpg in 19 minutes per game and also shot an impressive 41.2% from beyond the arc. During his tenure with the Tigers, Donaldson showed promise as an athletic playmaker, and he will have an opportunity to continue his growth with Michigan and will likely find himself in the starting five.

Shooting Guard: Roddy Gayle Jr.

The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry is one that is happening everywhere - including in the transfer portal. Roddy Gayle Jr joins the Wolverines after two years at Michigan's arch-rival Ohio State, and is poised to be a huge addition for Michigan. Last year, Gayle averaged 13.5 ppg, 3.1 apg, and 4.6 rpg while shooting 44.9% from the field in his starting role. Gayle will likely have a similar starting role this year with the Wolverines, and given his statistical improvements across the board last year, there is a possibily that trend continues this year.

Forward/Wing: Rubin Jones

Fifth year senior Rubin Jones joins Michigan for his final season of eligibility after spending the first four years of his career at North Texas. Last season, Jones started in all 23 games he played in and averaged 12.1 ppg, 3.7 apg, and 3.6 rpg while shooting 41.6% from beyond the arc. With his years of experience coupled with his strong three point shooting, Jones is poised to be a veteran leader for this Michigan team, and there is a good chance he will find himself in the starting five this year.

Forward: Danny Wolf

Danny Wolf is coming off a fantastic sophomore year at Yale that saw him nearly average a double-double with 14.1 ppg and 9.7 rpg while shooting 47.2% from the field. The 7 footer is also capable of hitting shots beyond the arc, as he shot 34.5% from the three point last year. Wolf will be a key interior presence for Michigan, and might just be one of the Wolverines' biggest X-Factors.

Center: Vladislav Goldin

Vladislav Goldin was one of the big men in the transfer portal, and ultimately, he chose to follow Dusty May to Ann Arbor. A fifth year senior, Goldin is a huge add for Michigan, and is set to bring both experience and production to the Wolverines this year. Last season saw him average 15.7 ppg and 6.9 rpg while shooting a whopping 67.3% from the field. Goldin's highly efficient production on offense coupled with his strong physical defense will make him one of the Wolverines' top players this year.
