Mock NBA Draft 2024: Picks and predictions for all 58 picks in draft
9. Memphis Grizzlies - Cody Williams, F, Colorado
Over the past week or two, there have been reports that Cody Williams is rising up draft boards. Here, he gives Memphis more wing depth, which they sorely lack. While Cody isn’t quite at the level of play as his brother, Jalen from OKC, the hope is he can develop into a 3 and D wing for the Grizzlies alongside Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, and Jaren Jackson Jr.
10. Utah Jazz - Nikola Topic, PG, Serbia
Concerns regarding Topic’s knee have arisen, as ESPN’s Jonathan Givony recently revealed that Topic has a partially torn ACL, which would be his third knee injury this season. However, if there’s a team who can take a swing and be patient with Topic’s rehab, it’s Utah. Utah has done a masterful job of obtaining 1st round picks and they’re early on in the rebuild process. Despite having Collin Sexton and Keyontae George in the backcourt, there isn’t a whole lot else. Will Hardy has been playing Jordan Clarkson more as a wing in recent seasons? Therefore, Topic adds to the Jazz’s wing depth and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him starting in a year or two.
11. Chicago Bulls - Ron Holland, W, G League Ignite
There have been rumors of Holland potentially falling out of the lottery, but this is a high-upside move for the Bulls to take a swing. Holland was the #1 player out of last year’s high school class. While the jumper is still developing, Holland projects to be a defensive menace with a budding offensive game. Many reputable scouts in the industry have Holland in their top five on their big boards. A front court with Holland and Patrick Williams could be a core defensive foundation for a team who’s been stuck in the middle and Holland can be an asset to Chicago regardless of the direction their front office and ownership decide to go.
12. Oklahoma City Thunder - Tidjane Salaun, F, France
Salaun is raw and will need a couple of years to develop which makes OKC an ideal landing spot. The Thunder have so much depth, that they likely don’t have room in their rotation for a rookie next year, and Salaun has the most upside remaining on the board at this point. Salaun is a very exciting prospect that can be a lottery ticket for a team and OKC has the infrastructure in place to get the most out of Salaun. While OKC could use a big man to back up or play alongside Chet Holmgren (Zach Edey anyone?), Salaun has too much upside to pass up at this point.
