9. Jerome Robinson – Los Angeles Clippers (2018: Pick 13)

At the collegiate level, Robinson showed plenty of flash despite playing at Boston College, a program that hasn’t exactly been in contention for anything in recent memory. The shooting guard from North Carolina shined for three seasons with those Eagles, even earning First Team All-ACC honors in his junior year before declaring for the Draft a year early.

Robinson was taken with one of the final lottery picks, heading to the Los Angeles Clippers with the 13th pick back in 2018. Unfortunately, things just haven’t worked out in his NBA career. He played just a season and a half for the Clippers before being traded to the Washington Wizards in February 2020, averaging just 3.1 points per game without outstanding shooting numbers in Los Angeles. He’d play just 38 games with the Wizards and was out of the league for two years before joining Golden State this past season.

All in all, the numbers aren’t great for a lottery pick, as Robinson has made just 29% of his 3-pointers and has averaged just 4.0 points a game in 135 career games in six years. What stings more for the Clippers is that the next pick after him in the draft was Michael Porter Jr., who helped the Denver Nuggets win a championship last season. Whether or not there were better options available at #13, the Clippers simply missed and things haven’t come together for Robinson on the biggest stage.
