NBA Draft 2024: 3 options for Philadelphia 76ers to pick at No. 16

Despite the consensus being lower in this year's NBA draft class, the Sixers need to find a way to select an impact player with this year's 16th pick.

Tristan da Silva - Colorado Buffaloes

Because of Da Silva’s age, he’s one of the most NBA-ready prospects in this class. At the age of 23, da Silva doesn’t have a real weakness in his game; however, he doesn’t have an elite NBA skill either. Typically, players without an elite skill struggle to make an impact in the NBA, but da Silva is above average in almost every aspect of his game. Like McCain, da Silva is a nearly 40% three-point shooter but also uses his 6’8” and 6’10” wingspan well.

Da Silva also moves the ball and is a very connective passer. He’s a glue guy who can impact a contender in a major way immediately. Wing depth is the most important thing to have in today’s NBA, and given the Sixers are entering the offseason with the cupboards bare, Da Silva could be the start of that wing depth. On defense, Da Silva can switch off screens and rarely misses rotations.

Also like McCain, Da Silva lacks high-level athleticism, but the Sixers rarely focus on drafting high-caliber athletes anyway. Da Silva would be an excellent fit playing the 3 or even the 4 alongside Joel Embiid.
