NC State is having a great run right now looks as though they won't be slowing down anytime soon. The Wolfpack made it to the NCAA Tournament by winning five straight games in the ACC Tournament to get the automatic bid.

Coming in as an 11-seed, the Wolfpack upset 6-seed Texas Tech and lucked out in an easier matchup with 14-seed Oakland who upset Kentucky in the first round. NC State will now face 2-seed Marquette in their 14th-ever Sweet 16 game.

The Wolfpack won their last National Championship back in 1983 where they took down the Houston Cougars for their second title.

NC State is taking on Marquette in the Sweet 16 this year, a team they beat in 1974 to win their first National Championship in program history. So heading into this matchup, how had the Wolfpack faired historically in the Sweet 16?

In 1951, the Wolfpack had their first Sweet 16 appearance and beat the Villanova Wildcats to move on to the Elite Eight for the second time in program history. This was NC State's second time in the NCAA Tournament.

The Wolfpack however would end up losing in the Elite Eight this season to Illinois and then lose again in the Regional 3rd Place Game to St. John's.
