South Carolina continues to roll

Lamont Paris -- 2024 National Coach of the Year?

South Carolina now stands at 19-3 on the year after their 72-62 win over Georgia yesterday, stifling the Bulldogs in the final 12 minutes to grab their seventh SEC win.

This was a team that was picked to finish last in the 2023-2024 SEC Preseason Poll but now looks the part of a top-five seed thanks to the quartet of Meechie Johnson, BJ Mack, Ta’Lon Cooper and Myles Stute.

It's been an incredible turnaround in Columbia and the Gamecocks show no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

The bad-fortune Clemson Tigers

After losing to Duke a week ago in heartbreaking fashion, Clemson fell heartbreakingly again, losing to Virginia 66-65 as Jack Clark’s game-winning three bounced off the back iron.

After a promising start in non-conference play, the Tigers are now just 14-7 (4-6) and have struggled to find any sort of consistency in ACC play.

Although Clemson is still relatively safe to make the NCAA Tournament at the given moment, their margin of error continues to diminish with each loss -- not exactly the position where Brad Brownell wants to be.

With a trip to Chapel Hill up next, the Tigers need to get on a roll quickly if they want to feel safe about their NCAA Tournament chances.
