It’s the middle of February, meaning the 2024 coaching carousel will start to spin in about one month from now once their respective teams bow out of their conference tournament or if they are ever so fortunate, the NCAA Tournament.

Although it is only February and many teams have about seven regular-season games remaining on their schedule, it's never too early to start thinking about which coaches might be searching for greener pastures, looking for a fresh start, or yearning for their first taste of a high-major job once they become open shortly.

Just last year, we saw a few high-major coaches jump from power-five to power-five, such as Micah Shrewberry to Notre Dame and Ed Cooley to Georgetown. We also saw numerous successful mid-major coaches get their first job at the power-five level, such as Grant McCasland to Texas Tech, Mark Madsen to Cal and Damon Stoudamire to Georgia Tech.

Here, we will discuss seven high-major coaches who could be looking for greener pastures and three mid-major coaches who could be en route for their first power-five job.
