Baylor

The Bears very well could lose starting center Yves Missi, one of the top freshmen prospects to watch in the NBA Draft. If he’s gone, it’ll come down to JUCO commit Noah Boyed and current backup, Josh Ojianwuna. That’s not much-proven depth for a team in the Big 12, especially since there are four new teams in it next season.

Ballo is very familiar with Coach Scott Drew and the Bears since he was on the Gonzaga team that lost in the title game to Baylor a few years ago, ending the unbeaten run. When it comes to a proven that’s proven to be a title contender and can win, Ballo could do a lot worse than Baylor.

Houston

The Cougars are a team that could easily be the favorites to win next year’s NCAA Basketball title if both Jamal Shead and LJ Cryer come back for 5th years. They already won 30+ games in its first year in the new conference and Kelvin Sampson has earned the right to be called one of the best coaches in the game.

They also could return the frontcourt duo of J’Wan Roberts and Ja’Vier Francis, two good defenders and rebounders. Still, that’s still an area of potential weakness against the better teams in the country, as we saw against Duke when Shead went down. Could the program go “all in” and try for Ballo to upgrade at center?
