Arkansas Razorbacks

When the Hawkins sweepstakes officially began after the deadline, the Razorbacks looked like an ideal spot for him… for several reasons. That includes having head coach John Calipari on board and plenty of “resources” to add another player. Plus, they still have four roster spots open, by far the most among the power conferences.

The recent news of them keeping Trevon Brazile could change things since he and Adou Thiero could play mostly the four-spot, while Jonas Aidoo and Zvonimir Ivisic will be the centers. Still, this is a roster that could use more firepower and a frontcourt pairing of Theiro, Hawkins, and Aidoo would be elite defensively. And let’s be honest, we know Arkansas could still find a way to bring Hawkins and his possible price tag into the fold.

Kansas State Wildcats

The Wildcats are another team that’s been after more frontcourt help in the past two weeks. They landed former Samford forward Achor Achor, along with Kentucky center transfers, Ugonna Onyenso. Still, they could use one more proven forward, especially someone who can defend like Hawkins.

If Hawkins wants to be a more viable NBA prospect, his offense will need to develop. Coach Jerome Tang has a good history of players becoming lead offensive options, including Keyontae Johnson and Arthur Kaluma. Hawkins could be the latest example if he were to pick them.
