Earlier this offseason, I did an article featuring the top-25 teams offseason when it comes to their respective transfer classes. Programs such as Alabama, Kansas, and Kentucky got plenty of headlines in the past few months for the players they were able to get.

But there were also plenty of programs that landed key pieces that may have flown under the radar. This article is an extender look at those teams who need a little love in terms of what they accomplished and why they could be sneaky threats for the 2024-25 campaign.

Here's a look at 10 teams to watch, based on their incoming transfer class.

1. Arizona State Sun Devils

A lot of the attention for ASU this offseason involved landing a pair of 5-star incoming freshmen prospects, Joson Sanon and Jayden Quaintance. However, Coach Bobby Hurley also added five players from the transfer portal, including a couple of prolific offensive players.

Alston Mason averaged 17.5 ppg and 3.6 apg at Missouri State and gives them a replacement lead guard to replace Frankie Collins, while BJ Freeman put up 21.1 ppg and 4.1 apg as a 6’6 wing from Milwaukee and could be their lead scorer. And Basheer Jihad is a 6’9 forward from Ball State, coming off a career-high 18.6 ppg and 8.0 rpg as a junior.

It’ll be hard to expect the Sun Devils to get this exact kind of production from these newcomers. Still, between these transfers and the 5-star freshmen, the team has a projected high ceiling and a low floor. But that’s what makes this group so intriguing and one to watch next season.
