10. Vanderbilt Commodores

After parting ways with Coach Jerry Stackhouse, Vandy hired Mark Byington, a breakout coaching star at James Madison, leading them to the NCAA Tournament bid. As a result, the entire roster turned over, leaving Vanderbilt to add nine players from the transfer portal.

I’d argue that this class could be good enough to get them out of the bottom tier of the ACC. The big names of the group are AJ Hoggard and Jason Edwards, two top guards from their respective teams. Hoggard was the starting point guard at Michigan State the last two years, averaging over 5.0 assists in each of them. Edwards led North Texas with 19.1 ppg last season, shooting 35% from deep.

Another quality ball-handler joining the team is Grant Huffman, who produced 12.8 ppg and 5.3 apg at Davidson. Chris Manon (12.5 ppg) led Cornell in scoring, while MJ Collins added depth after starting 28 games at Virginia Tech. Tyler Nickel is another former Hokie joining Vandy, producing 8.8 ppg in 24 mpg off the bench.

Jaylen Carey is the lone James Madison player who followed Coach Byington over the Commodores, adding frontcourt depth. Devin McGlockton (10.7 ppg and 6.3 rpg) is a proven starter at BC and likely will start here too. If former USC forward and top-30 prospect Kijani Wright can break out, then Vandy could be a surprise team to watch in SEC play next season.
