5. NC State Wolfpack

The ACC has notable transfer classes, including teams like Wake Forest, Miami, Duke, and Louisville. However, one team whose incoming group flies under the radar is NC State. Despite losing its two best players from last season (DJ Horne and DJ Burns), they were able to land four players who should be able to slide into the rotation for 2024-25.

Marcus Hill put up the biggest stats of the newcomers, putting up 20.5 ppg and 5.0 rpg at Bowling Green. The 6’4 guard will be tasked to help replace the lost guard production. Joining him in the backcourt is Mike James, a 6’6 wing from Louisville. In his second full year as a starter, James produced 12.6 ppg and 5.0 rpg, shooting 40% from the field and 34% from deep.

One of the top centers in ACC play last season was Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, who averaged 12.9 ppg and 8.4 rpg on the year overall and nearly 15 ppg in league play. The 6’10 center was a breakout performer and the former 5-star prospect out of high school will look to be a nice fill-in for Burns inside.

Dontrez Styles (12.8 ppg and 5.8 rpg) flew under the radar at Georgetown but was also effective in his first full year as a starter and gives the Wolfpack a capable combo forward to pair with Huntley-Hatfield inside. This core could be good enough to have them as a top-5 ACC team next season.
