9. UAB Blazers

In the AAC overall, the consensus view is that Memphis and Florida Atlantic had the most success in the transfer portal this offseason. But Temple isn’t the only team from the conference who had a fairly successful portal haul, as UAB also brought in a good core.

In the backcourt, UAB added Tyren Moore, a 5’11 guard from Georgia Southern who led the team with 17.0 ppg and 3.1 apg on 47% shooting from the field and 41% from three-point range. He had five games with at least 30 points, including 36 vs Appalachian State in the Sun Belt Tournament.

Greg Gordon is another high-level scorer for UAB to work with, coming off averaging 16.0 ppg and 7.3 rpg at Iona. The 6’5 guard will be the natural replacement for Eric Gaines, the one key rotation piece gone from the team.

A big x-factor to watch is Bradley Ezewiro, a 6’8 center from Saint Louis and a former top-100 prospect. He averaged 12.0 ppg and 6.2 rpg in his first year as a starter and paired with returning star forward Yaxel Lendeborg, could give UAB the best frontcourt duo in the AAC next season.
