NCAA Basketball: 5 bounce-back teams, 5 teams with question marks entering 2024-25 season
Team with question marks No. 1: Villanova Wildcats
After a disastrous start to the offseason, third-year head Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune has rebounded quite nicely, retaining Eric Dixon, who withdrew his name from the 2024 NBA Draft in late May, and landing Miami (FL) transfer Wooga Poplar in early June.
These two additions alone will keep the Wildcats from facing a complete free-fall, meaning Villanova should, at the very least, stay competitive in the grueling Big East.
But will it be enough to get Villanova back into the Big Dance?
From an outsider's perspective, that seems like a tall task, even with their quality late-offseason moves. Jhamir Brickus (La Salle) and Tyler Perkins (Penn) give a reason for optimism in the backcourt. Enoch Boakye (Fresno State) is a reliable frontcourt piece.
Yet, nothing about this roster stands out, making it difficult for the Wildcats to get back into the Big Dance for the first time since 2022.
