We're around one month from Selection Sunday happening, which also marks when the transfer portal would open for everyone who elects to leave. The one exception is when a coaching change occurs before the season ends, which automatically opens a 30-day window for players to freely leave.

After Wednesday's decision by Ohio State to let go of Coach Chris Holtmann, current Buckeye players could enter the transfer portal if they wanted to, find a new landing spot. Considering at this point in the season, it's hard to envision key guys wanting to leave, even if the odds of the team making the NCAA Tournament right now aren't high.

Ohio State will need to hire a new coach and if it's a home run hire, there's a chance that they could keep the roster intact. There are only two players with no eligibility left in Dale Bonner and Jamison Battle, two rotation players. Everyone else has at least one more year if they so choose. And since no one on the team is projected NBA Draft picks, look for some of them to see what their options are.

Here's a look at the players to watch that could potentially enter the portal, including a closer look at the top five.

Honorable Mentions: There are several underclassmen players that don't get a ton of playing time but are former top-100 prospects. So they're going to have interest regardless. That includes Bowen Hardman, Austin Parks, Taison Chatman, Evan Mahaffey, and former top-50 recruit, Scotty Middleton.
