Providence Friars

Coach Kim English is known as one of the better recruiters in NCAA Basketball yet even he will have some trouble landing the best talent at Providence, compared to other Big East schools. Being a former guard known for his relationships with players, he could be the ideal fit for Williams, who could be sort of a mentor for him.

Talent-wise, they could use a scoring guard as well. Neither Jayden Pierre or Garwey Dual are averaging double figures for Providence this season and if Devin Carter opts to go pro, the team would be in a hole on the perimeter. Williams could be a nice answer for them and give the Friars a needed talent boost.

San Diego State Aztecs

As a California native, look for some of the local schools to have an interest in Williams. The best one from the state right now is actually San Diego State, coming off a trip to the national title game and is currently ranked. They’re also a Mountain West school that isn’t used to landing top-tier talent out of high school and has to find hidden gems.

Williams could fall into that category, especially if the bigger schools in Los Angeles, aren’t interested. With Darrion Trammell leaving, the Aztecs could use another impact guard to remain viable contenders. It’s also one of the stronger cultures in NCAA Basketball, making it a low-risk move for them.
