Missouri Tigers

After going winless in all of SEC play last season, the Tigers are in complete need of a roster revamp. That includes in the backcourt since they’re losing top guards, Sean East, and Nick Honor. They need a veteran guard to replace them and Perkins, who is a proven power conference contributor, is a safer bet compared to the many other mid-major options.

Missouri has already landed 6’7 transfer win Jacob Crews to add more offense, though it’s a risk if the former UT-Martin star can’t translate his skill to the SEC level. The risk here is that the Tigers aren’t good enough to get back into postseason contention, compared to the other options.

Ole Miss Rebels

The Rebels are definitely losing Allen Flanigan from the backcourt and guard Mathew Murrell is an NBA Draft candidate. If he’s gone, that would leave just Jaylen Murray as a key returning piece for them.

The bigger question is who will be the head coach of Ole Miss? The latest coaching carousel movement involves Eric Musselman leaving Arkansas for USC. Early reports indicate that HC Chris Beard is a candidate for the job. If that happens, coach Arkansas be a potential option for Perkins?
