20. San Diego State (22-7)

It’s easy to look at the seven losses and be disappointed by San Diego State this season. On closer look, the Aztecs have been a fantastic unit once again this season, standing out in an MWC that’s significantly tougher than in recent years. All seven of their losses have come in Quad 1 road games, and all seven of those teams might be in the Big Dance in a few weeks.

They did not add to that total this past week, as their lone game was a 72-64 home win against San Jose State back on Tuesday night. Still riding high after a recent road win over Fresno State, the Aztecs did what they needed to do at home against the Spartans. Jaedon LeDee had his latest thrilling effort with 27 points and 11 rebounds.

The big change this season for the Aztecs has been LeDee’s emergence, transforming from a great bench contributor to one of the nation’s best forwards. We’re reluctant to say that these Aztecs will go as far as he’ll take them because this is a team effort that’s proven they can win big games. The MWC standings are still playing out and we’ll see if the Aztecs can handle UNLV on the road before an attempt at revenge against Boise State next Friday.
