17. Marquette Golden Eagles

With all of the transfer portal madness, Marquette has proved to be one of the few exceptions. They’re a team that doesn’t lose or add talent from the portal, keeping the roster intact. However, they still lost two of their best players this offseason, including former Big East Player of the Year guard Tyler Kolek, along with starting big man, Oso Ighodaro.

That still leaves the leading scorer, Kameron Jones. He averaged 17.2 ppg and 2.4 apg, shooting 50% from the field and 40% from three-point range. The All-Big East guard had 12 games of at least 20 points, including four with at least 30 last season, including back-to-back games with 34 points at home against DePaul and Xaiver.

There are other key pieces coming back to the Golden Eagles, including most notably, David Joplin. Guards Stevie Mitchell, Chase Ross, and Sean Jones are back, as well as big man and stretch forward, Ben Gold. All of them will have larger roles and due to injuries to the stars last season, we saw that they’re capable of playing well.

Marquette hasn’t added anyone from the portal, a rare move these days. They do have one more scholarship available so there’s a chance they add one more piece, likely to enhance the frontcourt.
