We’re on the doorstep of Christmas which means things slow down briefly in the college basketball world. Our season began in early November and has already seen incredible moments, great matchups, and fantastic drama, but we’re still only two months into it. Conference play will be here in the coming weeks and the drama will only increase substantially.

Holiday tournaments are long in the past, though their impact on Tournament resumes will certainly continue to be discussed for the next two and a half months. Rivalries have been played, shots have been hit, and injuries have taken their toll on certain teams. All of this action has pushed us through the majority of nonconference play and we’re starting to get an idea of where exactly this sport and its prominent teams stand.

It’s hard to judge teams based on November, no matter how good or bad, but nearing the end of December and things are a little different. A few teams have been hit hard by injuries or inconsistent play while others have exceeded expectations, either coming together as teams or with breakout stars on their rosters. Today, we’re focusing on those teams experiencing the good.

With Christmas just a few days away, we’re taking our weekly look at the Top 25 teams in the nation. The last few weeks haven’t been very full schedules, though that doesn’t mean we haven’t seen these teams in significant action. There was certainly movement this past week, especially after rumblings in the Big East, and plenty of stories to be told about these twenty-five programs. Let’s get right into this edition of the rankings, looking closer at each of these teams.
