Just about all of the capable power conference-level players from the NCAA Basketball transfer portal had picked new homes for next season. However, one is now fully available, with former Northern Illinois guard David Coit in the mix.

Coit started the last two years with the Huskies, coming off averaging 20.8 ppg and 3.4 apg. The 5'11 guard was a multi-time All-MAC performer and a high-volume scorer at the mid-major level. Now, with the news that Coit has been granted an extra year of eligibility, several teams with national interest are reportedly coming into the picture.

Which of these three programs make the most sense for Coit? Here's the latest roster analysis for how the senior guard would fit.

Arkansas Razorbacks

For the longest time this offseason, Arkansas still had several roster spots to fill while completely rebuilding the roster. Coach John Calipari has made an effort to fill up the roster with three-star caliber freshmen but the only proven backcourt players on this roster are Johnell Davis and DJ Wagner, along with 5-star incoming guard, Boogie Fland. This option makes sense since the Razorbacks are a top-25 team that still lacks backcourt depth, allowing Coit the chance to play at the highest of levels in his final year.

Texas A&M Aggies

The Aggies already have one of the better backcourts in the country for next season, thanks to star senior guard Wade Taylor coming back, joined by SMU transfer, Zhuric Phelps, as well as former Nebraska guard, CJ Wilcher.. There's also depth behind them, including returning role players. Hayden Hefner, Manny Obaseki, and Andersson Garcia. Texas A&M could be going all-in by adding Coit and having multiple backup options in the SEC but playing time wouldn't be guaranteed here.

Villanova Wildcats

Over a month ago, Villanova had lost the commitment of Max Shulga, a key transfer guard from VCU. They were able to add Miami sharpshooter Wooga Poplar to the backcourt but he's a clear off-guard. That leaves just former La Salle guard Jhamir Brickus and Penn transfer Tyler Perkins to run the offense, with a possible concern of a lack of shot-creation on the current roster.

This option is one where Coit would feel good about playing time, better than his odds at Texas A&M and potentially Arkansas if the freshmen guards are good enough. At the same time, compared to the SEC teams reportedly in the mix, the Wildcats have the lowest odds of making a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, if they get back there.
