The final buzzer rang and confetti began to trickle down toward the court in a prepossessing array of red, white and navy blue to celebrate the back-to-back national champions, the UConn Huskies, marking an official closure to the 2023-24 college basketball season and marking the official start of the offseason this spring.

It may have been a wildly entertaining five months of college basketball -- a season all college basketball fans will dearly miss -- but now the focus shifts toward matters off the court, i.e. roster retention, roster construction and the transfer portal.

Although the daunting, not-so-fun eight-month stretch of no college basketball begins, there is no shortage of college-basketball-related headlines to digest as teams across the country begin to carefully construct their roster with hopes of reaching college basketball’s biggest stage next April.
