15. Purdue Boilermakers - Veteran big man

The loss of two-time National Player of the Year star Zach Edey will never be easily replaced for the Boilermakers. But the loss of Mason Gillis, the Big Ten 6th Man of the Year forward, also is a hit to the frontcourt. With Braden Smith and Fletcher Loyer back, the backcourt is set. But the frontcourt could use an addition, especially one with experience. For what’s going to be one of the youngest teams in NCAA Basketball, landing another version of Lance Jones could help avoid much of a dropoff.

14. Xavier Musketeers - An emergency center

The Musketeers probably has done all of its work in the portal, landing seven transfers both inside and out. Plus, star big man Zach Freemantle has been cleared to play for next year after missing all of this past season with an injury. He can play the five-spot, along with Oklahoma transfer, John Hugley. Since both have dealt with injuries in the past, one more big man, just in case, could be helpful to avoid the depth issues that plagued last season.

13. Texas A&M Aggies - Another frontcourt player

With star guard Wade Taylor back and returning several rotation guards, the Aggies will have one of the best backcourts in NCAA Basketball next season. The frontcourt, however, doesn’t have nearly as much depth. They do return starting forward Henry Coleman and added Minnesota transfer Pharrel Payne but unless incoming freshman Christopher McDermott is ready to contribute, they could use one more big man to round out the roster.
