9. North Carolina Tar Heels - Starting forward/center

The Tar Heels bring back ACC Player of the Year guard RJ Davis and have plenty of firepower in the backcourt, thanks to the addition of Belmont transfer, Cade Tyson. The frontcourt, however, has more issues on paper. Star big man Armando Bacot has no more eligibility left, while forward Harrison Ingram is very likely to stay in the NBA Draft. The current starters for the team are Jae’lyn Withers and Jalen Washington inside so UNC will be looking for at least one more addition to bolster the frontcourt.

8. Arizona Wildcats - Scoring guard

Right now, the roster for the Wildcats is in good shape, though they’ll hope that transfers Trey Townsend and Tobe Awaka can replace the production that Oumar Ballo and Keshad Johnson had. They still have to deal with leading scorer Caleb Love being in the NBA Draft process. If he stays, Arizona would have to scramble to find another double-digit scorer from the portal.

7. Gonzaga Bulldogs - Veteran ball-handler

Assuming that Pepperdine transfer Michael Ajayi comes back from the draft process, Gonzaga will have replaced its only rotation piece from last season (Anton Watson). With Steele Venters coming back from injury, they have depth everywhere but at point guard. Ryan Nembhard played nearly 40 mpg against good teams last season and Nolan Hickman, who also played many minutes, isn’t the best backup ball-handler. They are reportedly targeting Colgate transfer Braeden Smith and could be landing him. Otherwise, that’s a possible hole on their roster.
