NCAA Basketball: Biggest roster needs of each WTE top-25 team for 2024-25 season
21. Florida Gators
Biggest need: Guard play
With Walter Clayton Jr. testing NBA Draft waters, Riley Kugel transferring to Kansas and Zyon Pullin out of eligibility, the Gators are thin in the backcourt -- especially if Clayton Jr. elects to depart to the NBA. Will Richard was integral to their guard play last season, providing a steady, X-Factor-like presence on the Gators' high-scoring offensive system. Three-star freshman Isaiah Brown can help fill some backcourt minutes but the Gators will need another guard if Clayton Jr. elects to depart.
20. Texas Longhorns
Biggest need: Frontcourt depth
With Max Abmas out of eligibility and Tyrese Hunter en route to the transfer portal, Rodney Terry is out two starting guards. Yet, Texas should still be okay in the backcourt with high-scoring Arkansas transfer Tramon Mark filling into the two or the three and Tre Johnson, a five-star prospect, filling into the shooting guard spot. Indiana State transfer Julian Larry can play the lead guard followed by Chendall Weaver as the backup PG. The question mark for Texas is their frontcourt. Dillon Mitchell announced his intentions to enter the 2024 NBA Draft while entering the portal and Dylan Disu is out of eligibility, leaving Texas with just one "true" big: Kadin Shedrick. Incoming four-star recruit Nic Code gives reason for optimism but the Horns will need more.
