15. Saint Mary’s Gaels

Biggest need: A key guard

Just a day ago, Aiden Mahaney and Augustas Marciulionis were set to return, giving Randy Bennett one of the better backcourt duos in the country. However, Saint Mary’s (despite being keen on roster retention) is not immune to the transfer portal bug as Aiden Mahaney elected to hit the transfer portal. With Alex Ducas graduating and Josh Jefferson hitting the portal, too, there isn’t too much substance behind an elite guard in Marciulionis and a talented big in Mitchell Saxen. Randy Bennett is an excellent talent developer and will need to develop within or land a key guard in the portal to subdue the loss of Mahaney.

14. Arizona Wildcats

Biggest need: Center

Arizona can realistically lose the entirety of their starting five. Kylan Boswell is off to Illinois, Oumar Ballo is off to Indiana, Keshad Johnson is graduating and Pelle Larsson has entered the NBA Draft while not retaining his collegiate eligibility, leaving the spotlight on Caleb Love, who entered the 2024 NBA Draft while maintaining his collegiate eligibility. Although Tommy Lloyd has many holes to fill, Jaden Bradley and KJ Lewis have the potential to be a formidable backcourt, meaning Lloyd must grab a big in the portal. Because Ballo is gone and so is redshirt 7’0 center Dylan Anderson, the Wildcats are thin in the frontcourt despite a strong recruiting class en route to Tucson.
