13. Marquette Golden Eagles

Biggest need: Oso Ighodaro replacement

Tyler Kolek and Oso Ighodaro have entered the NBA Draft, leaving Shaka Smart with some holes to fill in 2024-25. Finding someone to fill Kolek’s role is like finding a needle in a haystack. It will be nearly impossible -- if not impossible -- to do so because of how valued he was on the roster. With Ighodaro entering the NBA Draft, too, finding a piece that fits a similar mold to Ighodaro’s skill set -- soft hands, elite footwork, pick-and-roll and nifty passes -- should be a priority. Will it be from the portal, which Smart has been reluctant to use given his team’s returning core? Or will Shaka Smart bank on development from Al Amado and Ben Gold to fill that void?

12. Auburn Tigers

Biggest need: Forward depth

The portal hasn’t necessarily been kind to Bruce Pearl, losing Tre Donaldson, Aden Holloway and K.D. Johnson -- all integral pieces guard to last year’s 27-win team. The Tigers were able to subdue the losses at the guard spot by adding one of the better players in the Southern Conference last year, JP Pegues, from Furman while adding four-star freshman point guard Tahaad Pettiford in the mix, too. However, the biggest news out of the Jungle was the return of Johni Broome, who announced his return to the Jungle on April 17, making the Tigers a sure-fire top-15 team. Yet, the Tigers will still need to establish more depth at the forward spot to field a more balanced roster. Players like Chaney Johnson and Chad Baker-Mazara will need to step up.
