Mike White, Georgia Bulldogs: C-

After facing the heat in Florida, Mike White bolted for a fresh start in Athens. The early returns at Georgia are mixed results. On one hand, it’s been an improvement from the tumultuous Tom Crean campaign. On the other hand, the Bulldogs have struggled to make their mark in SEC play, going just 6-12 both years. Georgia did sneak its way into the NIT last year -- and took advantage of its opportunity -- going all the way to the semifinals. Despite this, Georgia has been a clear step behind the ultra-competitive SEC. The Bulldogs have some solid pieces in place entering this season, but thanks to the brutalities of the SEC, it's hard to imagine the Bulldogs cracking their way toward the top half of its league in year three of the Mike White era.

Jerome Tang, Kansas State Wildcats: A

Jerome Tang has been among the hottest coaching carousel names over the past two seasons after leading the Kansas State Wildcats to the Elite Eight in 2023. Even if K-State took a step backward last season -- and situations were outside of their control, such as the Nae’Qwan Tomlin dismissal and the Ques Glover injury were a vital reason why -- Tang’s infectious personality and ability to get the Kansas State Wildcats into the national spotlight immediately makes the case for an A grade in the Little Apple. Entering the 2024-25 season, the Wildcats, littered with transfer portal talent, will look to put last year’s struggles behind them and build off the strong foundation laid by Tang & Co.
