NCAA Basketball: Jeremy Roach, Oumar Ballo among week's top transfer portal pickups
9. Darlinstone Dubar - Hofstra to Tennessee
2023-24 season stats: 17.8 ppg and 6.8 rpg
Dubar has been a starter at Hofstra for the past three years but this past season was his breakout campaign, second on the team in scoring. He’s a versatile 6’6 guard/wing who shot 54% from the field and 40% from deep, including a pair of 30-point outings. The immediate comparison will be to the Dalton Knecht, the All-American star wing for the Vols last season. They’ve lost a lot of offense this offseason so they’ll need Dubar to be an impact player out the gate.
8. Jason Edwards - North Texas to Vanderbilt
2023-24 season stats: 19.1 ppg and 2.4 apg
The leading scorer for North Texas shot 35% from deep and was in double figures in 31 of 34 games. Edwards had five games of at least 30 points, including 37 against Tulane, going 8/10 from three-point range. The 6’1 shooting guard is part of a new Vandy system, which lost all of its key guards. On paper, Edwards projects to be the go-to option.
7. Mark Mitchell - Duke to Missouri
2023-24 season stats: 11.6 ppg and 6.0 rpg
The former five-star prospect started 67 games in two years, shooting 54% from the field this past season. The 6’8 forward had five games with 20+ points, including 23 points and eight rebounds in a win over Wake Forest. He goes from being a 4th/5th option at Duke to possibly the No. 1 guy at Missouri, coming off a winless SEC campaign.
