13. Wisconsin Badgers - 16-5 (8-2 Big Ten)
The Badgers had won 9 of their last 10 games to enter last week in 1st place of the Big Ten standings, a surprise considering they were predicted to finish more of the middle of the pack. They had just one game this past week, a road trip to Nebraska, one of the bubble teams in the league.
There didn’t look to be any signs of looking ahead for Nebraska, who was up by 16 points at the half. Wisconsin had never blown a lead that big that late in decades so it should’ve been over. However, the Badgers allowed the Cornhuskers to not only come back but win in overtime, 80-72.
AJ Storr has continued his stellar play of late, finishing with a game-high 28 points, including 18 at the half. Guards Chucky Hepburn and Max Klesmit each had 13 points, while forwards Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl combined for just eight points on offense.
It’s a bad loss considering the circumstances of how it happened but all will be forgotten if they find a way to beat Purdue at home on Sunday. After that are a pair of road games at Michigan and Rutgers, two of the bottom-tier teams in the conference.
